The key to the Renaissance Club is the requirement to stay there as part of an exclusive residential and golf arrangement. This isn’t accommodation that can otherwise be used by regular members of the public. The accommodation itself is on-site and within the estate that hosts the golf course and club
The One Time Experience programme gives non-members the opportunity to experience the luxury of the Renaissance club as a Member for the duration of their experience. The One Time Experience can be used on a Monday or Wednesday at set times to gain access to the course and includes a fabulous three 3 course, Renaissance Club lunch. The most popular way to experience the club is through the overnight stay option that the One Time Experience provides. Individuals have the opportunity to spend one or two day, in the Renaissance’s accommodation.
One Time Experience at Renaissance includes playing the magnificent 18 Hole Championship course, enjoying the practice holes and driving range, luxuriating after your game in the clubs bijou spa, and reflecting on the days round in the Clubhouse Bar whilst savouring the finest cuisine prepared by chefs trained in Michelin-starred restaurants. You will stay in one of the deeply restful, sumptuous bedrooms with views over the course and luxurious touches like antique furniture, Egyptian cotton sheets and heated bathroom floors. It’s really something of an idyllic haven given that Edinburgh is only 30 minutes away. You’d never know.
Rooms can be laid out for dlouble or twin occupancy
Throughout your stay the Guest’s Services Team will be on hand to show you where everything is, and attend to your needs, but that’ll be it, that’s your one time experience spent we’re afraid, to get back again you’ll need a members invitation, or to apply for membership yourself
Even though we have to impose some supplementary surcharges in line with passing costs on, we endeavour to adopt a sincere position that doesn’t seek to penalise such travellers and exploit your situation, occasionally absorbing some of the cost ourselves. Despite our commitment to fair play, there is still ultimately only two bottom-line options:
1: Pay a single traveller supplement
2: If you indicate a willingness, we can attempt to pair you in a twin room
The Renaissance Club isn’t a traditional hotel proposition so is a little bit unique in this respect. Even so, it still operates a single occupancy tariff and there is no escaping it. Sure it costs more, but then you do get the added benefit of your ‘own space’. It is also worth noting that unlike a lot of top Scottish courses where a single person will rarely be allowed to play a round of golf solo that because the Renaissance Club is an exclusive affair, this is one case where you might be able to if you chose to.
The snooker table and a communual seating area beyond. The club has numerous discreet areas where guests can quietly socialise in relative peace
Most hotels operate a cancellation premium of some description. The amount charged however varies between chains, and even different hotels within the same chain, it also fluctuates with little sense of predictability. In addition, the terms and conditions also differ with 3 days to 24 hours being typical cut-off points beyond which cover is invalidated. Group bookings can find they’re subjected to 28 days given that a hotelier takes a bigger risk accepting such a reservation to a mass cancellation. We try to reserve piecemeal as a result
Our policy is to recover what we can for you, but we are restricted in line with what the hotel offers. It’s always helpful to check the individual hotels T&C’s. We advise you if booking by credit card, to check that you don’t hold an added service item that came when you signed up. This might cover you.
